Okemo Employees Volunteer for EpicPromise Week

20 September 2019
LUDLOW, Vt. – September 20, 2019 – Dozens of Okemo employees and their family members descended on Ludlow’s West Hill Recreation Area to paint, dig, build, rake and clear brush on Saturday, September 14. They all donated their time and skills as part of Vail Resorts’ annual EpicPromise Week.
More than 75 employees, family members and community members made improvements to the popular recreation area located a short distance from Okemo. A total of 400+ volunteer hours resulted in a freshly painted and trimmed fieldhouse, the clearing of two walking trails and the construction of three wooden bridges along those trails. A new trail sign and horseshoe pits were also installed. Okemo’s Executive Chef Mark Wiegand, and members of his culinary team, rewarded the volunteers with a delicious chicken barbecue lunch at the West Hill picnic pavilion.
